A gaming pc for Music Production?

Hi guys, I thought I should post a very basic question.

I'm a non gamer, I'm into music production (DAWs, software synths, sampling, etc.) and web and graphic design.

I'm think that a PC built for intense gaming, other than video, would be good for music production as any one who has worked with DAWs and software synths knows they can eat resources fast.

Would building in the direction of a gaming computer be a good idea?

Thanks, ScottAC

Not really Audio workstation are purely CPU intensive and GPU acceleration has no gains - so more power consumptions, heat and noise may actually be detrimental

I see, so more focus on CPU and a little less on RAM and Mother Board, as in say 70% concern with CPU and 30% on RAM and MotherBoard?

Thanks for the info :)

He said GPU so you may want a little more RAM a supportive board and THE best processor you can afford! With a neato kicking sound card!
