I was wondering if a Corsair HX520W could handle a HD5830 at peak load on a i5 760, 4 GB RAM, 3 SATA, mild OC on the CPU and GPU.

I see that the Corsair is a 3 rail design at 18A per rail. Wondering if 2 rails would be enough to power the HD5830 (it uses 2 PCIe cables).

Thanks!

agreed, but if you can afford the extra go for the 600w variant

the larger your powersupply the less it is under stress and the cooler it runs.

also gives you chance if you need to upgrade to an extra hard disk etc
