Deciding on os best for my build

i finally figured out the build i want but i need an os.
is there any specific os i should get and how can i get it for a cheap cost?

Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
G.SKILL PI Series 6GB
XFX HD-587X-ZNFV Radeon HD 5870

I will be gaming and doing some video editing on this build

I would go with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit OEM System Builder, which will run you around $100. If you are a full time college student, you should be able to get the OS at a discounted price through your school, which should be around $75 or so... roughly.

Windows-7 64 bit of some variety.

I think if you are a student you can get w7 professional for $30.

Otherwise home premium is usually all you need.
