My computer had such a prolem:
I set the quick launch at the start----settings----taskbar & startmenu
select show quick launch and then press ok, but nothing happened. When I back
to see the setting, it is auto cancled what I set. The weird thing was when I
set others like auto hide, it was work.
I need your kindness help!!!!!

You might want to try the following:
Right click on an open area of the Taskbar.
Move your cursor up to Toolbars.
In the menu that drops down, make sure there's a check mark next
to "Quick Launch".
If there is no check mark then click on that entry.
This should place a check mark next to "Quick Launch".
If the Quick Launch toolbar is still not displayed then you may
want to try this:
Right click on an open area of the Taskbar.
Click on "Lock the Taskbar".
You may see a dotted bar next to the Start button.
Put your pointer over that bar until it turns into a double sided
arrow.
Hold down the left mouse button and drag the bar to the right.
Also, make sure that the following folder exists on your
computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Account\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
