Can I use the data on the 2nd hdd from my 1st hdd?

I have a built PC and I have windows 7 installed on the 1st HDD. If I were to add a 2nd HDD, would I be required to install a brand new copy of windows on there to use or could I use the 2nd HDD by logging into the computer through the windows 7 on my 1st HDD?

My 2nd HDD has important datas I need to access.

You aren't talking about cloning the 1st drive to the second, correct? You just want to put a second hard drive in the computer? Yes, this can be done. If it's a new, never used drive, then you need to go into disk management and initialize the drive. Once it's assigned a drive letter it will show up in windows.
