More about build
  1. Have you considered the illusion version of the Antec 300? It has more fans, and is $5 cheaper than the regular version. The only con I guess is that it has blue LED fans.

Another suggestion you'll find very common on these forums is to get the Phenom II x4 955 instead of the 965. You'll save $10 in this case (b/c of the gift card), and you'll basically get the same cpu (unless you plan on oc'ing over 4ghz).

Everything looks like it's compatible after a quick glance at everything else.
  2. everything is good, but if you want you can get the Phenom II 955BE and OC to make it on par with the 965. But its only a 20 dollar difference, a small dent in te overall cost, but everything seems ok
  3. 1) Drop the CPU down to the Phenom II X4 955. The X4 965 is basically just an overclocked version of the X4 955.

    2) I would change your hard drive to the Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB hard drive at the same price but faster.

    3) I would switch your case to the Antec 300 Illusion with the Antec Earthwatts EA650 combo.

here is a build for $962.91 before rebates (these components are much better quality and u can cf in the future) i can put a 5870 but it will increase it to $1047 before rebates

ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231321 (a bit better ram bec. it's lower voltage which means it's gonna run cooler and live longer)

hdd: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181 (a much faster hdd this thing competes against the velociraptors)

    odd: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136180

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and if u don't care about the price increase switch the cpu&gpu combo to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.435996

note: the xfx 5850 be u mentioned isn't worth the extra $'s

  6. the case and psu combo i mentioned is a steal

psu review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/899 (this psu can handle 2x 5850's oced and i7 oced@4ghz)

case review: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/22076-lancool-dragonlord-pc-k62-case-review.html (this case is alot higher quality than the nzxt looks alot better more roomy alot better airflow and everything is tooless even the psu and mobo) also it has 8 expansion slots and it's interior is black and has much better cable manegement

also newegg reviewers are noobs they can give a product 1 egg because it's not made out of choclate.
  7. i think im good now.

my spec are all the same but i added the psu and the case mrhoshos96 suggested if any other opinions please tell me
  8. i did forget one thing what cpu cooler should i get
  9. For an AMD build, I woudl recommend the Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler W/TX-2, which is a great cooler for the price or pick up the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus from Amazon.com or TigerDirect.com, as Newegg is over priced them!!
  10. ok cool i will go with the sunbeam cpu cooler.

thx to everyone who gave me suggestions
