Main batteries with a voltage less than 8V (over discharged) cause the DC IN
LED to blink orange after the AC adapter is plugged into the machine and
switched on (within one minute).
Reason:
If the battery is over discharged, the discharge prevention circuit will cut
the discharge path of the battery. The machines have a function which
interrupts charging when the machine is switched on. This causes the
malfunction of the over voltage detection circuit in the battery charging
circuit. This then leads to the PS-Micon incorrectly detecting over-charging
of the battery. As it takes about 1 minute for this to be detected before
shutting down, the system shuts down in the middle of the boot process.
Countermeasures to avoid the failure:
Without removing the MAIN BATTERY
1. Press the RESET Switch (DC IN LED is blinking) for about ten seconds
until the blinking stops.
2. Confirm that the DC IN LED is green and the MAIN BATTERY LED is orange.
3. After charging the MAIN BATTERY for 2 or 3 minutes, turn the machine on
again.
Removing the MAIN BATTERY
1. Pull out the AC ADAPTER (DC IN LED is blinking).
2. After removing the MAIN BATTERY, leave the machine as it is for 2 or 3
minutes.
3. Replace the MAIN BATTERY and re-connect the AC-ADAPTER.
4. Confirm that the DC IN LED is green and that the MAIN BATTERY LED is
orange.
5. After charging the MAIN BATTERY for 2 or 3 minutes, turn on the PC.
