Hi,
I just upgraded my video card from a nvidia 9600gt to a gts 450. Right away I noticed that I was getting really poor performance in games and programs. I did some research and figure it's probably because my psu is rather poor, a 450w Radimax and is not getting enough power to the card. I just got back from my computer shop and they recommended I get their Coolmaster Extreme 500w psu to replace the radimax. Should the 500w Coolmaster be enough to sufficiently power the gts 450? and is it a fairly good quality psu? thanks

Win Xp
Intel q6600 quad 2.4gz
Geforce GTS 450
4 gigs ram

The requirement for the GTS450 is 400watts with 22 amps on the combined +12volt rails, so the answer is yes.
The CM extreme is though not a very good PSU, in class with your Raidmax. I would suggest a PSU from Antec, Corsair, Seasonic or Enermax to name a few quality brands

It will work fine, but 500W seems a little borderline for that system. I'd suggest upgrading to a 600W+ If you can afford it go for Corsair, Antec or Raidmax. Corsair is defiantly amazing. I never had any power issues once I switched.
