ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3 AMD 870 memory compatability

I plan on buying ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 AMD Motherboard:

In the research I've done so far, I've come across ppl having issues with using 4gb memory sticks, stating that the board cannot take 4 4gb sticks=16 gb
and that the maximum is 3 sticks=12gb

I plan on starting with two of these:

and later adding another two sticks to make a total of 16gb of ram. will that be possible with this board?
Thanks in advance

Why do you need that much RAM for? Usually 4 or 8G is more than enough. 4GB sticks are tricky on all the mobos, some of them don't work but you can use those:

If you don't have the budget to get a 8G kit right now,

those match the codes in two 8G kits in there even if they look differently:

I do lots of media editing/3D rendering, wanted as much ram as possible for the best price possible. Thanks for your input though.
so crucial is more guaranteed to work that Gskil.
