Second HDD not found by Computer

For some reson my second HDD in my laptop isn't coming on line ,not in My Computer or anywhere else its not being recognised,it dose work when i connect externally through a docking station.

If its a new hard drive.
Go to start menu and right click computer.
Click manage.
The computer management windows appear.
Under storage click Disk management.
If its a new hard drive you need to format it first.

Also check in the BIOS to see if it is recognized if it doesn't show up in the disc manager.
