Torn between two Cpu's

ok... I am planning a build.... Ive made an initial build plan..but have currently scratched most of it, and made some updates based on user input...

I still havent decided on a Mb/CPU combo....

since this will be a photoshop computer and not a gaming computer ..I had initially placed an AMD into the build with a ASUS MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646

but now i am looking at INTEL .... due to the vast amount of Combo deals available....

Any thoughts??

  1. Well even with AMD, you get very good combos...

    Gigabyte 870A + GSKillz 4GB DDR3

but Intel will offer better performance though...

  2. Budget?

How to Ask for New Build Advice

While you're likely to get more performance out of an i7-930 in Photoshop than with a Phenom II X4, if your budget won't support it, recommending that you go Intel is useless. An Intel i5-750 build is likely to cost about $75-100 more than an AMD build. An Intel i7-930 build is likely to cost another $100-150 more than the i5 build.
  3. if your going to be doing alot of photoshop than a phenom II x6 1055t processor is the way to go with a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard since its not gaming you dont need a dedicated gpu and the hexacore procs are very good for photoshop/editing software
