Compatibility Ballistix memory and Standard

Hello,My PC has 4Gb Ballistix memory, I hoped to increase performance by dding 4Gb more memory and used the Crucial calculator to select new memory. The added Standard memory was selected, though I didn't notice this at the time.
The added modules prevent booting. Is it worth adding this memory? ie. will it actually improve speeds if I can get it to work?

I should have mentioned, that the Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H v1.
