Difference between Phenom 965 BE + 970 BE?

Apart from the price diff, and the fact that one is 3.4 GHz and the other is 3.5, am I missing something?

Pretty much. In theory you could turn the 965 into a 970 by raising the multiplier.

Not much, although in tom's recent review, they were able to get their sample up to 4.1 Ghz. For overclockers, hitting 4.0 and higher is a big deal. Still doesn't make it better than a core i5 750, but it gets close.
