Many USB storage devices have a very small switch on them to enable write protection. Check yours for such a switch.
If there is no switch, try this. Use RegEdit and try to remove the following entry from your registry:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
look for StorageDevicePolicies -- if found, open it and look for WriteProtect - - delete the key
