Yes worth definitely, take it. But men, be sure to test these card (in single and in crossfireX mode). Ran every GPU tests and benchmarks. Also ran 1h> furmark and look for artifacts (try with overclocking, up to 1ghz core speed)...

Try with negotiation for 2 years warranty...

Btw who is the manufactor of these card?

You're asking us if we think they could be fake? Of course they could be fake. Do you know who you're getting them from? If it's not Newegg or tigerdirect or some major retailer, then it's obviously a possibility that it's a scam.

But if it comes with a one year warranty, then it should be a safe bet.

Thats almost $75-100 cheaper than a 5850.... of course its too cheap, even for a second hand one, those would probably go for $300 or more...... it must be defective or a fake 5870(meaning a 5830 made to read and look like a 5870.....) Its entirely possible for the second scenario....... Dont buy it unless your its your friend and you know he/she needs money badlt and is selling the item just for cash because its a good, no great buy if its genuine.

Take it and test it, chip of 5830 can't be showed how 5870. Can be coated like a 5870, but if you have good results in benchmark, in 3DMark Vantage got 18000 score, then you don't need to worry...

Just be sure to run EVERY posible test. try to overclock-underclock, look for artifact.

Take one year warranty, but on paper, with documents about these cards. Otherwise don't take it.
