I have a HP m9040n Pavilion with a GeForce 8400 GS and ran it with Vista at about 1600 (Samsung says my TV/Monitor will go to about 1900). But when i went to Windows 7, the MAX is 1280 and assuming it is the Drivers for the 8400 for Windows 7.
So am assuming I need a new updated graphic card. Is the GeForce 9400 for about $50 a good choice for non-gaming?

Your TV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and considering the 8400 GS is only a few years old, it should have no problem outputting that kind of resolution. It's not the graphics card. Question - what cable are you using to transfer the signal?

I was running an 8400GS @19 x 10, so it can defiantly run that res. Your problem is elsewhere mate and a 9400 is not exactly a step up nor may it cure the problem.
