I am new to posting on the forums but have been reading them for years thanks to all for the great information. My current motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. It has gone bad. Like many others I am on a very tight budget. Let me stress very tight. What I am seeking is a few recommendations on a replacement motherboard. I currently have 4 sticks of Mushkin HP2-6400 2 x 1GB DDR2. My CPU is Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB). My current graphic card is the EVGA eGForce 8800 GT which I not sure is good or bad. Any suggestions on a replacement graphics card also would be appreciated. I am even interested in used if I can get up an running quickly. Thanks for any input.

Go to NCIX and browse the compatible motherboards (LGA775).

As for graphics cards you might be able to handle a GTX560 if your Power Supply is good enough.

Recommend:
motherboard: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=44150&vpn=P5G41-M%20LE%2FCSM&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1324

Graphics: spend between $100 to $200 (if you want play any modern video games). Can use this as a guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card-radeon-hd-6990-geforce-gtx-590,2912.html

If you can find a $100 HD5770 1GB that might be your best value.

Its a long story but several pins got damaged in the cpu socket. I attempted to repair without success. I can now power up but do not get any picture at all.
