APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: any time within a month BUDGET RANGE: $100-$150

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, right now i am able to play bad company 2 with the settings on high with aa off getting about 20-40fps depending on map.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: nvidia geforce 9600gt and not sure about the power supply, someone bought a better one when it was purchased cause the first one was a 350w and went with a higher, some where between 400-500w

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: hp pavilion m9250f, q6700 2.66ghz, motherboard is the asus ipibl-lb, memory is 8gigs,

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com, ncix.com, but would prefer brick and mortar stores. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: united states.

PARTS PREFERENCES: whatever is compatable and better then current card.

OVERCLOCKING: No SLI OR CROSSFIRE: no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: with this being a little over 2 year machine with a few already upgraded pieces, would like to buy a new card that will last a bit while longer. i am hoping to be able to play starcraft 2, diablo 3 and other games. the motherboard is One PCI Express x16 graphics. so im hopeing i can get a great card.

that wouldn't be much of an upgrade at all, and he already has a pretty decent system around a 2.66 ghz quad core would i feel be good for a 5770, which only draws like 110 watts or something like that so he could use it with his current psu

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... link for a HIS ATI Radeon 4670 for about 77 USD after shipping and MIR.

That's a down grade. The 9600GT is faster overall.

Get the HD 4850 or GTS 250.

If you are really not sure of the power supply, then buy a HD 5750. The HD 4850 and 5750 provides similar performance, but the HD 5750 uses significantly less power. Less power than the GTS 250 too.

The following is currently the cheapest HD 5750 1GB listed on newegg:
