Importance of 1GB DDR5 vs 512MB DDR5 & Brands: PNY vs XFX or Galaxy

Card1: GT 240 1GB DDR5 $25 more
Card2: GT 240 2GB DDR5 $25 less

Question1:
Is the $25 worth upgrading to 1GB (I have a 21" screen). The cards are about $50 so $25 for an upgrade is a lot.
Question2:
Go with XFX, Galaxy, or PNY ($30 more)? Is $30 worth the PNY Brand?
Question3:
I only have a 300W power supply (AMD Phenom Quad Core 2.2Ghz, 6GB Ram)
A GT 240 should run with my pc right? I heard it uses very little energy like 9w on idle & 40w at max.

i suggest u get 512mb evga Gt240 COZ its dumb to get other one coz its expensive + 512 is sufficent enough for 21inch screen and gt240 itself

Thanks for the quick response. I was reading newegg reviews & a lot of people had issues with the EVGA (heated up too much). Based on your response I think I will go with the XFX 512MB one since its not worth getting 1GB or paying $30 for PNY brand.

512mb is enough for a GT240 since the card is not powerful enough to utilize the extra memory.
