After AC Power Failure

Have kept an ATA Drive for years. Just joined it to an old HP Pavillion desktop. Error message is After AC power failure... [Stay Off]. Have never seen such a message on POST. The drive is spinning. Seeking guidance on how to proceed.

Look in the bios, usually under power settings. There should be something that reads like "after power failure". Your options are usually stay off, stay on, or remember last power state. I usually have mine set to "remember last power state" this way if my computer is on and it loses power, it will boot back up when the power comes back on.

In your case, the computer was on and it lost power. It's letting you know that computer was last shut off due to a power failure.
