More about 8800gt physics acceleration
  1. If you have the slot for it and a PSU that can power both cards, yes then you can.
  2. i more question i m having cooler master elite 334 mid tower case will 9800gx2 fit in it
and which power supply should i be having with it
500 watt enough for 9800gx2 only
  3. yes i have exactly the same case but simpler version

and i have cooler master power plus 550 watt psu

    thanks for the support
  4. If this is your PSU http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2894 then it might have issues and create instability running both cards because of low total amperage on the +12 volt rail.
  5. you need at least 650W and certified sli or crossfire PSU

what if i run only one card 9800gx2 on 500 psu
  7. well 9800 GX2 is a über-powered, dual GPU-based graphics card that powers nice gaming and ... Minimum Recommended System Power is 580 W

Depending on the rest of your system, you might just get away with it. 217w is required by the 9800GX2 apparently.

  9. At full load the GX2 is going to be using 18.1 amps of the total 30 amps that the PSU can provide on the +12 volt rail. If you have energy efficient CPU 95watts or lower 1 HDD 1 optical drive and not a lot of other extra components it might run without instability issues.
  10. i m not having any other shiny hardware just 1 500 gb hdd xfx 750i 2gb hyper x dvd writer
  11. The only way then is to give it a try. Most of the time it is going to be running fine, if you run into instability when 3d gaming you know what would be the culprit then.

this one is my psu if u really cheak it out 9800gx2 will use 6 pin pci and 2x peripheral
it means that i will have 2 left unused (it has 5 1 is uesd by dvd) i can connect 9800gx2 and 8800gt for sure
the website of 9800gx2 says that u will need minimum 360 watt psu

i think i will be able to run both 8800gt and 9800gx2

i m very new and noob to this stuff please help i already made a wrong decision by picking up xfx 750i

    help me :(
  13. Don't try and run the 9800GX2 and the 8800GT together on that PSU, you will be courting a possible meltdown if you do.
  14. well i guss i wont just do it since i will be gaming on 1280x1024 9800gx2 is good enough
to crank up some good amount of frames on enthusiast settings
  15. Oh easily, I'm using a single 8800GT to play JC2 @ 19 x 10 at the moment and it can handle it just fine.
