Hello ,

This is my 1st build ever :o  Just wanted to ask about my parts , dont really know too much about hardware .

GPU - HD 5850

Mobo - GA-890GPA-UD3H

CPU - Phenom II x4 955 BE

RAM - 4gb kingston

PSU - Corsair 550w

HDD - wd caviar black

Case - CM 690

Will buy 24" monitor .

Is everything ok ? Will all parts be compatible with others ?
My biggest worry is PSU , will 550w be enough ?

Thanks :)

Yes it's all compatible.

I'd suggest changing to either Samsung Spinpoint F3 or Seagate Barracuda 7200.12, as they will be as fast, while also being a bit cheaper.

Yes 550W is plenty for a system with one 5850, altho not enough for a second one.

Was there supposed to be a link to the RAM you're thinking about?

I would pay an extra $5 and upgrade to a 1TB samsung F3, twice the size and faster [...] k=F3%201tb

If you want to crossfire in the future i suggest a 750W PSU, for $5 less before rebate and $5 more after MIR you can get an XFX 750W unit and a 5850 [...] mbo.440276

And just make sure your ram is DDR3. I would suggest:

And if you have any doubts about the PSU: Check out the Review

Thate case has the same general idea of the cooler master you selected, but has more room for a Single video card if you where to ever upgrade to a BIG mama-jamma card. (also black inside... sexy ;-) )

The power supply on the other hand is a full modular PSU. (awesome for cable management) and will allow you all the room in the world for either crossfire or a tasty 5970 in the future ;-)

Food for thought... definitely go for the Samsung F3 tho... great drives
