Problems on the gt 220 1 gig

Hello. i have recently installed a gt 220 to replace my old integrated ati radeon x1250.... and the geforce is actually better but it is lagging in games that the x1250 could play for instance if i played company of heroes on my x1250 i could go to ccc and turn on AA on 4x and AF on 2X and turn of shader quality and it would run every setting on ultra but with my 220 i can go into nvidia control panel and put the exact settings both there and in game and it would run slowly . i really dont undertand why though please help !!!


Processor, amd athlon 4800+ 2.50 ghz
3 gigs of ram
19 inch moniter with 1400by 900 res
250 psu

also can any one give me suggestions on what to turn on in the nvidia control panel for maximizing framerates

Personally I let applications decide my settings instead of forcing them through gpu drivers. Have you tried just changing settings in game and leaving nividia control panel on default?
