which one is better option

4350 512mb vs 8400gs

my little is currently using core i3 IGP for internet, video and some gaming (WOW, counterstrike, Red alert3, CNC general and some child games) and i'll give him 8400 or 4350 that i've already have before buying a better card end of year.

so let me know which one is the best for him (8400 or 4350 or IGP)
plz don't recommend me a stronger card because i'll buy 5670 for him and for me at the christmas.

thanks in advance

More about : 8400gs 4350

Both are pretty weak but out of those two the 4350 would be slightly better, the 4350 will be about 65-80% better then the IGP I think.

But I would get a 4650, it's nearly as cheap as a 4350 and offers nearly double the performance, thus you wouldn't need t upgrade later as those games aren't particularly demanding and the CPU is quite good.

just few more questions

1. which one is better between 4350 512 DDR 2 and 4550 512 DDR3?
2. what's the difference between 1080 p and 1080 i?
3. is it possible to CF between two different GPU? eg. 4650 + 4670
4. is it possible to CF between tow different card with different memory? (512 and 1GB / DDR 2 and DDR 3)
5. if so, will they run with their own config or both will run as the lower card config?

thanks again

Dude you have a 300W PSU, you cant CF on that lol, and the 4550 512 DDr3 is alot better but like seven said the 4650 is alot better then both and really cheap too.

Also i think you can hybrid CF but its pointless on such cards, just get the better card.

thanks for giving me very good ideas for me.

i'm just asking 4350 because i've already have it.

also i have a 4650 for me new PC. (4350 is for my bro and we both will have 5670 at year end)

so i have just one more question.

i read from the review of newegg.com that, 4650 can be OC to 750 MHz + memory 1000 MHz and it become 4670, isn't it?
will it really function as 4670
and what the heat and duarability for that
i have 400 W PSU.

thanks

1. the 4350 and 4550 are the exact same cards. the 4550 comes with 1GB of ram while the 4350 has 512mb but both draw the same amount of power. both cards are actually to slow to even use 512mn of ram so really the 4550 is a sales gimmick.

2. 1080i is interlaced so every other scan line drawn is specific line while those in-between are simply a copy of the previous line. 1080p is a progressive scan where all the lines are specific and not copies.

3. no

4. yes but its not worth it for such cards that offer models in both DDR2 & 3.

5. they default to the lowest setting

im sure you can OC it (i highly doubt it would offer 4670 DDR3 levels) but then to be fair, you can OC the 4670 also to further separate the cards in performance.
