Hey
I got a question about the lifetime warranty on ram. One of my ram stopped working. When its in the pc, the pc wont boot. Its a kingston 1gb ddr 400 and I am wondering if ill be able to get a free replacement? When I went on kingston website to get a RMA, it didn't show the this ram was discounted or anything. The model number is KTH-D530/1G
Would I be able to get a new one without any proof of purchase? Its from a hp computer.

If it was originally installed in an HP computer, it's covered under the HP warranty. The memory Kingston provided to HP might not have a lifetime warranty.

You can try an RMA through Kingston if the HP warranty has expired, but there's no guarantee they'll do anything for you.

I don't think it was installed by hp, the pc was not originally my. I googled kingston kth-d530/1g and i see walmart still selling them. Do I need some proof of purchase or something?
