Hello all has anyone heard about the 1075t yet?? I have read a couple of reviews about it and it seems to be a solid cpu for a fair price and a good overclocker. Its also about 60 cheaper than a 1090. Anyone have any thoughts...

Heard about it yes. Can't comment beyond what the benchmarks say though, because I don't have one. Donations welcome.. ;-)

Here's toms article:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/phenom-ii-x6-1075t-...

Here's Anandtech's:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/3937/amds-fall-refresh-ne...

They're both pretty thorough. To me the most significant thing is the X4 970BE.
1) It can clock over 4.0 Ghz
2) It has lowered the price of both the X4 955 and 965. The Ph II X4 955 is a black edition at 3.2 Ghz @ $140. Pretty sweet.

OOPS! Looks like they raised the price on the 955 on the egg to $153. No doubt this is too close to the 965 and we'll see it drop again soon though.

By significant thing do you mean you like the 970? Or 965? I'm looking for a amd to overclock... Mostly for adobe and gaming

Well, if I was buying AM3 right now I might be tempted to spend the $185 bucks to hit 4.0 Ghz with the 970. Typically I recommend the 955 though because it yields about the same in overclocks as the slightly more expensive 965. Which would be in the range of 3.8 -4.0Ghz. Prior to the release of the 970, the only AMD cpu's capable of reliably hitting 4.0 in 64 bit operating systems was the X6 CPU's. Now that has changed with the release of the 970.

Some guys are really psyched about hitting 4.0, like its a magical number or something. To me, as long as I get the best overclock I can and can run any software I like I don't care about the number. I run 3.6 day to day, which is plenty fast enough.

You won't need to OC for adobe, well you don't for gaming either but it doesn't hurt.

For OC with AMD, I would recommend a black edition for the unlocked multiplier. For AM3 I'd go for the 955, or for a little more Mhz the 970 is the best available. The X6 processors are very nice, but they won't be quite as good for gaming, although they can game too.

I believe Q1 we will see new CPU's from AMD that will be very good. I am waiting for that to upgrade myself, as I am running an X4 940 (AM2+) and it doesn't make too much sense to upgrade CPU, ram, and mobo for a few more Mhz. But as I said, I would likely choose the X4 955 for value.

Nor bad for $240.

hmm. I remember thinking the same thing when my X4 940 was $240. Then newegg dropped the price to $200 over the holidays and I snagged it. One can only hope!
