So I am looking to restore an old LGA 775 rig with more high end components (Yes, I am aware that 775 was phased out long ago) So far what I have is a Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0 GHz, 8gb of Corsair DDR2 800mhz, GTX 460 SC, WD Velociraptor SATA 3.0/gbs, corsair hx1000 power supply, and I already have my case and accessories. My question is about the motherboard... I want the motherboard that was considered the best of the best for the 775 Socket preferably with 2x pci-e x16 slots for sli.

You have a problem. The supply of LGA775 motherboards is drying up. Most available boards use DDR3 RAM and have only one PCIe X16 slot.

The only LGA775 motherboards capable of SLI as far as I know are the 780/790i boards. As far as I know, there are no new ones available.
