Looks good but a 955 be cpu would be fine for a gaming build.

Switch to a 1gb 460gtx or a 5850 for the video card, get an x4 955 as the processor as it will perform better in games for cheaper and get a better power supply with less watts (Corsair/Antec/ect 500-600w).
Or, if Crossfire/SLI is going to be used in the future, get a better power supply Corsair/Antec/ect 750w) and get a motherboard that can be used for crossfire/SLI like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Also stop making new threads every few hours with the same content.

EDIT: juanchioo's build looks good, however a tx750 would be better if your son is going to purchase another graphics card and SLI/Crossfire.
Also, that motherboard is almost the same as the ASRock 870 EXTREME3, however the board he suggested is 60$ more expensive.

Recent Build I put together for a friend that wanted a 460 gamer:

Mother Board / CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

Memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Case / Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

GTX 460 / Windows 7 64 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

Hard drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
(Could go with the 1TB F3 if you'd like more space)

CD DVD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E168...

Cooler - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
(Could use a bit better one, but these are great coolers and still even allow some OC head room)

Fans - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
(This case has 3 open 140mm fan slots, Adding one exhaust to the top and one intake on the side panel to blow directly on the video card will give great cooling, in addition the the included 120mm fans it comes with)

CD DVD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E168...

Use promo code, EMCYVNP52 on top of it for $10 off.

$911.63 as of 7-28-2010

Food for thought:
