Hi,

I'm about to buy a build for gaming..
My configuration is:

Mainboard - ASUS P7P55D-E PRO
CPU - Intel Core i7 860
Ram - GSKILL 6GB (3x2GB) TT DDR3-1600Mhz CL6 1,6V Low Voltage TRIPPLE (6-8-6-20) Ram
CASE - XIGMATEK UTGARD PURE BLACK EDITION 80PLUS 700W MidT ATX
Video Card - Zotac Gtx470 Amp

Would this system be good for gaming or should I change something?
Thanks

Solution
Personally i would buy the 1600MHz kit it's plenty fast.
But it's your money.
The i5 750 is considered the best value/ performance gaming cpu.
I also own the 860 btw and i'm very happy with it.
If i bought a cpu today though i would buy a 875K.
Your mobo is also a good choice and is what i would buy also.
Dual channel ram is sold in 4gb kits.Or you can get 4gb sticks which are very expensive.
6GB kits are triple channel and made for the 1366 i7 9xx series.

I would change the processor to an i5-750, get a better power supply so you can do gtx 470sli in the future (if you want to sli) and change the ram to Davcon's suggestion.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, but I don't really know the specifications between i5-750 and i7-860.. I thought I7 was a better way to go.. and is there no way for me to put a 6 GB ram with this mainboard and cpu?

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM

Or

G.SKILL 4GB (2x2GB) TTS+FAN DDR3-2200Mhz CL7 1,65V Voltage DUAL Ram?

Thanks a lot for your help.. Your ram advice really stopped me from making a big mistake..
Btw, is the difference between 860 and 875 K worth the 50$?

Any ideas about the case or the graphic card? Many discussions are made about Ati vs Nvidia, but I'd like to have the physics option by my side when I need it.. The only thing which concerns me is that people say that gtx470 uses way too much electricity.. I wonder if my choice will make me worry about the electricity bill :)

nThanks for selecting me.
nCombo on 875k/E-PRO MOBO
nhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.430490
nOR
nsave $10 and buy i7 870 and E-PRO
nthe 870 and 875K are identical the only difference is the 875K comes unlocked for easier overclocking
nI don't know what your budget is but for a gpu i would consider the HD 5850 and the GTX 460 1GB version as viable along with the 470

Thanks again but I live outside of USA and here in my area the price is a little higher for 870.. I ordered 860, E-Pro, Skill Ripjaws 4 GB, and the Zotac 470 AMP! with the Xigmatek Utgard Case.. =) I hope it makes me happy for a long time :)
