nalia's quest?

I'm not looking for spoilers or anything, but I just encountered her and
she has joined my part. It seems her quest is time-based, but is it even
possible to leave Athkatla and do her quest right now? I was under the
impression that I am stuck in Athkatla until Ch. 4 or so, but is it
possible to leave now, do it, and then come back?

You're in Athkatla *and surrounding areas* - which include the
Windspear and Umar Hills, Trademeet, and De'Arnise Keep - in chapters
2 and 3. To go to an area outside of the city, you must visit the City
Gates area and walk your characters actually out the gate - at least,
the first time. (After that, you can come and go as much as you want,
bypassing the area.) Talk to everybody in the Gates area first.

(In fact, there *is* no time limit on Nalia's quest, if you don't want
her in your party. However, your character doesn't know that: and
Nalia herself will leave your party in a week if you don't go to the
De'Arnise Keep within that time. Whether you actually *finish* the
quest there is another matter - I can tell you right now that the
actual events will pan out exactly the same, whether you do it now or
later, even as late as chapter 6, but your character doesn't know
that.)

You can leave via the city gate area, no problem there. Several NPC quests
lead you into the countryside. Just make sure you leave no unifinshed time
based business in twon, since traveling takes time. I lost my thieves guild
that way, since I couldn't pay the dues in time while being somewhere else.

Wow, I didn't realize that. That's pretty much the entire map, then. I'm
glad to know that, so I can go exploring a little.

I actually don't want her in my party, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to
get this quest done first, then come back and drop her for Keldorn.
