Mixing Memory

Hello,

I was recently told that buying multiple sets at different times of the same memory model/product code from the same manufacturer would be regarded as mixing memory and that current generation CPUs with the memory controller on the CPU is often sensitive to this.

The mother board has 2 independent memory channels

If the memory comes from the same manufacturer and is the same product code number, and has identical speed & latency ratings, is this still regarded as mixing memory?

As long as the frequencies and latencies are the same, I don't think you'll see any problems. If it's the same product code, it should be safe.
