Which SSd to get

Ok fellas this is the 1st time I will be purchasing an SSD but not sure which one to get. I don't want to get too big of a hard drive since I have 2 other hard drives and the main reason I am getting a SSD is to run my operating system with a few games. I am thinking 256GB is perfect. I have the Giga-Byte GA-890FXA-UD5 mobo, not sure which revision though. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  1. There are several brands to choose from and any of them will be good for what you want and the size of 256gb is a good choice for a primary drive.
Samsung , Intel and Corsair would be what I would choose from.

SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD256BW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) $269.99

This drive will be released on 10/23/2012 and I will be looking at this one myself.

Here is a selection for you to look at and consider.
  2. Samsung 830 or 840 series,or Crucial m4.

Yeah, the 830 and M4 are pretty much the standards for reliability. The speed crown of the two (if you can even tell a difference), goes to the 830 - until the 840 comes out that is.
