I'd like to upgrade my gf's 1015pn eee pc from 1 gig to 2.

I've been reading online some people have been having some issues getting brands to work. Any sticks that have more then 8 chips didn't work for whatever reasons.

Crucial recommends this : http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=CD...

But I'm wanting to use a ebay giftcard to buy it. I was wondering if it mattered if I bought an off brand with the same spec's or if I got one that had a higher speed rating it would be fine.

I've found listings with these speeds:

DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10660)
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Thanks in advance!

The 1015pn eepc will only accept single rank modules. Many RAM suppliers don't realise this and will supply the standard dual rank 2GB mod, which wont work. Make sure you buy a module with the same specs like those here on RamCity:
