More about 4770 ultra watts efficiency
  1. i seriously recommend a 500W.
Your rig can do with 400W, but a 500W gives more upgradability.
  2. so this means that it will work right?

    no instability or watsoever?

i do plan on change my psu on the future
  3. 20A on the 12V rail does NOT make a 400W unit, thats only 280W making it a fairly weak 400W unit. The 4770 only pulls a bit over 75W, but the rest of your setup might put you a bit too close to max load on that unit. Most cheaper units arent able to do what they are rated for. Plug your specs into the PSU calculator and see what it tells you.

  4. it says minimum psu needed is 310w and recommends 360 watts

    my system is as follows:

    asrock aLivenf6-vsta mobo
    athlon x2 4400+
    1 pc 7200rpm hdd
    2 sticks 1gig ddr2 ram

how about a 9800gt? will this work?
  6. If you are willing to spend just a little more and deal with a rebate you can buy the more powerful HD 5750 ($117 after rebate and includes shipping). It is consumes less than the HD 4770 and the 9800GT.

Under typcial gaming conditions it has been measure to consume 44w and 61w when stressed with FurMark.

  7. I assume you already have that power supply? If not here is a MUCH better one for cheaper.

Ultra power supplies are junk and I wouldnt trust one at all if you are stressing it. If you already own it then as jaguarskx recommended the 5750 is a great choice.

LOLLLLLLL!!!!!! and u said the 5750 has less power draw
  9. Looking at the link you just posted, the 4770 is 17.4 at idle and 49.5 at load, jaguar's charts show the 5750 with 11.3 at idle and 43.7 at load, so yes it does have lower power draw, and the results for the 4850 are consistent between both charts so we know the system config didnt get changed.
  10. I dnt know why people wanna buy CHEAP!!!!! PSUs for, its like the heart of your PC get a decent one or be prepared to buy a full new system when the crappy $35 fails badly.
