Question about heat spreader value

If I don't plan on overclocking my ram, is there any real need to get it with massive heat spreaders?

The Ram sticks with the huge, comb-like fins look cool, but would they give me any benefit over the compact, plain rectangular heat spreaders? Or even over ram without any heat sink?

If the memory has the same listed clock speed and timings, it should perform equally well and without issues as long as I don't overclock it or run some sweltering hot system, right?

It shouldn't make any difference to my knowledge (I actually sometimes look for low profile heatsinks to ensure they don't interfere with the CPU cooler).
