Hi all,

I recently purchased the MSI 880GM-P51 and having trouble to get it to boot with a display. I havent gotten any beeps to tell me if theres an issue with anything. I disconnected everything and tried just using the cpu, mobo, and on board video card but still no images popup. I even hooked up the cpu (which is AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz) to my asus mobo and it worked absolutely fine with its on board gpu. I also tried my AMD 955 with the msi and it didnt work.

I'm sooo lost... Could it be my case or is this mobo a lemon? Any suggestions on how to diagnose this?

System was running good for quite sometime. I was using a thermaltake tough power 450+ the Thermaltake VGA power supply. I been using these 2 power supplies for about a year. Ran the MSI p35 + MSI x1900xtx for about half a year now.

Recently its been increasingly difficult to get signal out of my video card on boot. The system will always fully boot but the display is not working. Powering on and off on and off on and off over and over usually gets the display going eventually but alas it looks like its completely out now.

Originally I thought that perhaps the power was having an issue and I picked up a nice corsair power supply but it didnt help the situation.

Im posting to inquire if anyone has had a similar issue and did it turn out to be the video card or the motherboard? It would be quite a blow to the wallet if I purchase a new video card to find the motherboard is the issue.

I do not have another pci video card or pci express compatible board to test with.

I am having a similar issue. When I plug in the cpu power it won't power on. When cpu power is unplugged it powers on, but no video. Can't figure it out. What did you eventually do?
