Mobility Radeon HD 5870

Hello,
I have a new Asus with an Intel i7, 8 gigs of Ram, Mobility Radeon HD 5870. I bought it for playing World of Warcraft because I was told it would be overkill but...

My FPS are average around 25 frames, and when I'm in a city they drop to 8-15. I tried updating ati drivers and my cooling is good. Lowering the video settings lets me get around 45-60 FPS but I shouldn't have to. Friends of mine with slower/older hardware get a frame rate around 100 FPS... I was thinking I'd get the same.

Make sure you have a good internet connection. Choke can hold back FPS. Also, no matter what, every card struggles with WoW on the major cities.

Try running the laucher as admininstrator. This will update your wow settings and video card info.
