Hello, recently my graphics card got burnt and because of that my motherboard also got spoilt. I have an old P4 system with 2 x 512 DDR RAM, 40GB seagate HD, CD-RW and CD-ROM drives. I had an ASUS P4XP-X motherboard but am not sure who still makes compatible motherboards anymore and although I am aware this is a really old system, lack of funds are the main reason I cant go ahead with purchasing a new up-to-date PC. I need a motherboard with decent/good integrated graphics as I dont want to spend too much for such an old rig, especially since I wont be able to use them in my new PC setup. So, please no graphics card suggestions. I haven't really gotten onto the bandwagon of newer games yet so I dont need anything high-end. I'm only looking for a decent mobo that can handle older games like CS. Although, any other suggestions towards a new rig would also be appreciated.

Hope you guys can help as I need to get the computer running soon.

Thanks.

Buy a used motherboard on eBay, Craigslist or Kijiji. A new motherboard meeting your requirements (DDR RAM), socket 478 and support for more than 2 IDE devices doesn't exist.

Hey ,

Thanks for the reply. Luckily,I actually managed to find a local company that still makes boards for P4 processors. Here's the link. Can you please help me identify which would be the ideal or most appropriate one for me. Really appreciate the assistance.

I'm surprised they still manufacture them. The PI845GVM-AGP should meet your requirements (same chipset as the old motherboard), AGP slot, DDR memory, IDE connectors, etc. An alternate solution is the m-ATX PI845Z.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for replying so late. I usually visit the cyber cafe's once every two weeks to keep updated. Once the computer is fixed, I can surf from home and not waste anymore money at the cafe's. So, thanks again :D
