Hello,
I have a SONY VAIO Model PCG-7121M (VGN-NR21Z)
i took my laptop for repairs as the screen WONT come on ..however, u see the lights power up. i tried connecting it to an exterior monitor..still nothing. I was told it was a VGA problem and the entire motherboard needs to be changed. its out of warranty and Sony are quoting a ridiculous price that can equally buy me another brand new laptop. I've taken it to a few places, however..still no luck. So i'm here asking/begging..is there anyway i can salvage my laptop? get a motherboard (used or brand-new)for a reasonable price..or even better still..can mine be fixed? please help as i'm a technology illiterate trying to get by.

i had a similar problem with a toshiba and it was one of the ram sticks was corrupt, i recomend, if you have 2 ram sticks in to try taking one out and seeing if it then works, if youv only got 1 then maybe buy one cheap on ebay and replacing it.
