Connect marvell serial ata

Hi there

On my motherboard Asus P8P67 Deluxe there are two Marvell Serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s connectors (7-pin SATA6G E1/E2).
In the instruction manual it says: ... these connectors are for data drives only. ATAPI device is not supported.
My question: What can I actually connect to these 2 connectors?

Data drives are standard hard drives and SSDs.

Optical drives are not supported.
