How do i repair my harddisk

Hello,
my laptop is given me this message"Toshiba (MK2035GSS) ata device failure" and it ask me to backup my file in other to avoid losing important files(which i have done), it also requires me to press f1 at start up before it can fully boot. pls help me. how do i fix dis problem. here is my email address "dammyjay35@yahoo.com

If you can still boot to Windows (and are using Windows 7), make a disk image with Backup Restore. Be sure to make a recovery disk at the end when asked so you can use it to restore the image to the new drive.

@davegeeit, dammyjay35 has already backed up the data. No need for data recovery software.

@dammyjay35, you could at least see the reason for the warning by examining your drive's SMART report. Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

Very true. He did say he already backed up his 'files'. But if he can make a disk image instead of just backing up files (or in addition to), he can simply restore his entire disk to his new one.

True, I still use my 30GB IBM DEATHSTAR for testing even after some clicking of death...
