Network Card for HP Compaq Presario SR1510NX

Hi,
I believe that my card is going bad on my pc. It will work for a few minutes and then drop off. I was wondering what type of card I could purchase to place in the PCI slot for this machine so that I could connect to the internet since the current card is mounted on the motherboard?

Any PCI based 100Mbit or 1Gbit card will work, just make sure you disable the onboard nic in the bios.

You could also get a USB network card if that would be easier. They're fast enough for internet, but could slow you down if you do a lot of large transfers from one computer to another over your network.

They seem to be harder to find these days, I guess anyone who considers USB goes wireless.

Since you must be using a router or cable modem along with your nic, take it look at it if it sits near the pc. Many are able to connect via USB for a 'quick fix'.
