Hello,I replaced an AM2-AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core 6000+ with an AMD Phenom X4 9750 Quad Core Processor - 2.40GHz, 4MB Cache, 3600 MT/s FSB, Quad-Core, Socket AM2+, OEM Processor After checking with the supplier that it would work. When I install it and start it up it does not recognize anything. I am new at this, Any ideas ??

OK see if this makes sense to you, It's an HP factory made M8300f with a Nvidia MCP61, ECS, Nettle2 Ver1.0 running Vista. Does that help..

OK here is what I did, updated from version#5.20 10/3/07 to 5.27 6/10/08.. It did not work..Am I missing anything??
This all started with me having a problem starting the PC. It runs a few seconds and shuts off..3,4,5 times in a row. I have switched out the power supply, the hard drive and the (who would guess) the power switch.. In case you are wondering, I enjoy doing this, I have learned a lot.. Also I appreciate the help.. OK I did everything you said today. Even checked to be sure the update was there, F10 on startup, it was there. I installed the processor the way you described except no screws. Spring clip. Same result as the first time, nothing responds,no keyboard, monitor, mouse and have to unplug to shut down completely? Problem now I have to get more thermal compound before I can try again..
