Hello,
I'm looking at buying a Toshiba - Satellite Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 16" Display / 4GB Memory / 500GB Hard Drive - Slate. For a graphics card its says Intel HD. Would that be good for running Second Life? The name alone is so vague I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

you will be able to run it since its better then the " Intel 945 chipset" listed as minimum. as far as "good", you will most likely need to settle on medium level of graphics so that would depend on your level of expectations.

They're recommending 4850's, GTX 275's, those are pretty big girl cards.
You'd probably want at least some form of discrete card to run at higher settings, the Intel GMA HD will run the game though.
If you're looking toward a discrete card an ATI 5650 is a great card.

Then again, looking at the graphics they look hardly demanding, so if they really are recommending those cards then there must be some horrible coding.
