I am soon to be building a new gaming PC and I need help picking between two cases and to find out if the extra cooling in one will make a significant difference specs are as follows:

MOBO: MSI 790X-G45 AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813130249
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Heka 2.8GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor HDZ720WFK3DGI - OEM Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
CPU cooling: Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler W/TX-2
RAM: OCZ Obsidian 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3OB1600LV4GK Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 20obsidian
Video Card: HIS H577FK1GD Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822152185
PSU: reusing old 500W
DVD/RW: reusing old LITEON
Extra HDD: 1 350GB 1 160GB

The two cases I need to pick from are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811103030
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811146041

I like the looks of the NZXT one and if I get it I plan on installing a third 120mm front intake fan but I am wondering if the cooling system on XClio will be significant over the NZXT. Thanks in advance.

I also plan on doing a little overclocking including attempting to unlock a fourth CPU core.

I would go with the XClio or look a this Cooler Master case, which is a nice mixture between your two cases but overall is a better case... IMO

Cooler Master RC-690

Thanks for the recommendation I think I will get the cooler master although I wish it had a side window but that isn't all that important.

If it ever does become important they do make side windows for RC-690 cases - this one is about $25:

Yeah! the CM website and store prices are amazing.
Antec's new website leaves alot to be desired it's worse then the old one.

I have another quick question is it a good idea to get the CM 690 II over the original?

CM690 II Advanced does have free shipping so the price difference is only $18 with shipping factored in.
If you are really interested in a side window it does dress up the overall look of the case.
There are a few little nice upgrades on the CM690 II Advanced that have been popular with owners.

it can take 2 on the side.. 2 on top.. 1 exhaust..1 in the front cooling the HDD it has a blue led.. plus the heatsinks fan and the one on your video card.. WAYY more than enough.. oh and one on the bottom by my the power supply.. but all im using is 2 on the side.. 1 exhaust and one on the bottom by thew psu,, and the one in the front.

I think I will go with the CM 690 II advanced and get the side panel with it. Does anyone have any suggestions for HSF for overclocking a phenom II and unlocking a fourth core?

A fourth core unlock is a function of the motherboard. Have you picked one of those out yet?

nice choice.. you can go pre liquid cooling.. the H50 already comes with everything set up.. you just screw it in and its done. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

or if your going air this is the best air cooler on the market today.. it even beats the v8, v10 air cooler in actual study.. and the v10's running at like 120 bucks..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

personally i'd go with the air cooler.. i dont want to have to worry about that h50 springing a leak 2 years down the road..

Yes I have already purchased a mobo with the CPU core unlock capability.

I would also prefer a HSF that doesn't cover any of my RAM slots although if its a good enough bargain I would be willing to sacrifice this requirement.

As for the heat sink... I'm a fan of the Sunbeam CR-CCTF for any AM3 build.

That was my original choice and I may still go with it, my only problems are its size and the reputation of sunbeam for rebates and warranty's and things of that nature.

You always have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus from Amazon.com, MicroCenter.com or TigerDirect.com, all of which have it cheaper than Newegg.com

Is that the MSI 790X-G45? I didn't know it had the core unlock feature.
I'm trying to check the RAM slot clearance of the HSFs being talked about.
Just need to be sure which MB to check.

Yes that would be it and it has a BIOS option to unlock CPU cores if im not mistaken. Also whats the reliability on refurbished items from the cooler master store?

Better than average. I got two of the RC-690s there 2 years ago. Slight cosmetic imperfections in out of the way places was all I noticed. A few scratches on the side panel were touched up nicely.

I saw the NewEgg customer comments about the core unlocking utility.

I normally use the NewEgg customer comments to scope out what coolers fit specific MBs and Im not finding any help there.

So it would be ok to get a refurbished HSF and or case from them?
