I am experiencing 3 problems. I don't know if they are related, or separate
issues. Help on any of theem would be appreciated.

1) Add remove programs does not list any installed programs. It just shows
the message "wait while programs are located". If I look in the registry
the programs are listed in the uninstall area of Windows.

2) Maxtor USB Onetouch 80gb was working fine. Now backup software cannot
find drive E:. Drive E: shows up in Explorer, but in shows "Drive not
accessible. Device driver I/O error"

3) File access is slow. It takes 4 or 5 seconds to display the folder list.

The only changes that I can think of are an install of anc Epson CX660 multi
function printer.

I had to reformat the USB hard drive to make it usable. I am running a new
backup now.

I thought that I would try the XP system recovery by restoring back to an
earlier date. The available recovery points only went back to the prior day
(May 1). My computer at work has recovery dates back to March.

I assume something happened to delete, or lose the link to the prior
recovery images. This may relate to the problem with add/remove not finding
any programs.

t8:25am 5/3/05 The issue seems to have resloved itself. After I
reformatted the USB drive (E:) and completed a full system backup, the
add/remove option started working again. Is it possible that the add/remove
process was hung up trying to access some information on drive (E:)? We did
have a brief power outage on May 29. This may have been the cause of the
problems with the USB drive.
