Suggestions for an add2 graphics card

Hello,

My brother recieved a hand me down computer, and he wants to play games such as 'World of Warcraft'. He needs a new graphics card, but the intel chipsat only allows for add2 type cards. Not sure of all the specs; but its running win xp, (sp2), has an intel dual core (32 bit) processor and 4 gb ram. Any suggestions would help greatly.

add2 cards are to enhance the integrated and give more monitor connections http://www.directron.com/add2.html
If he has a PCIe x 16 slot he should be able to upgrade to a better GPU and disable the integrated. Post his full specs inclusive of PSU so we can help you out.

Thanks for the responce. here is the dxdiag info. let me know if thre is more information needed. also I had a Radeon HD 4670 that i was going to let him have it it worked. I tired using it stright up and it gave me a message taht says something like it only allows for ADD2. And windows xp wouldn't start. The Radeon is a PCI express 2.0, and the computer has the pci Express x16 slot, taht is supposedly the same as an add2 slot.

If there is a way to disable the integrated graphics, and use the radeon, that would probably be the cheapest way to get it working.

The power supply is a 300W, +12V = 11A, +12vcpu = 11.5A

I am not sure why I didn't think of this before, but the computer has 3 other expansion slots. All 4 slots listed below:

2 PCI expansion slot
1 PCI Express x1 expansion slot
1 ADD2/SDVO expansion slot

Could I use one of the other slots for a graphics card?

I was assuming that I could only use the ADD2 slot for graphic upgrades because this note was in the manual:

'NOTE The dc5700 platform only supports the use of normal (or non-reversed) layout ADD2
(Advanced Digital Display 2) adapter cards inserted into the SDVO (Serial Digital Video Output)
connector on the platform's system board. ADD2 cards are used to give multi-monitor capabilities
to the integrated graphics controller.
The ADD2/SDVO connector on the system board has the physical appearance of a PCI Express
x16 connector; however, the platform does NOT support the use of conventional PCI Express
cards or reversed-layout ADD2 cards.'

But after re-reading this, I believe it is referring only to the SDVO slot. I have emailed HP, but have not gotten a response as of yet. let me know what you think.

I recieved an email back from HP, the computer does support graphics cards in the PCI and the PCIe x1 slots. YAY! I guess I should not have jumped to conclusions.

They have 3 graphics cards that they have tested:

NVIDIA Quadro NVS 280 64-MB PCI dual head VGA
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 55 64MB PCI low profile DVI w/TV-Out
NVIDIA GF 8400GS 256MB dual head graphics adapter (PCIe x1)

I don't think those are the best cards, but my brother will be playing WOW most of the time. He is not looking to spend more than $100, so if you have any suggestions that would give the biggest bang for the buck on a PCI or a PCIe x1 graphics card, let me know.

I know that a PCIe x16 or AGP card would be ideal, unfortunately I do not have that option. I have been doing some searching and I found these cards for the PCI and PCIe x1:
