Psu help for my build

hi guys, im wondering what psu i should put into my build. i have i7 950 cpu, p6x58d motherboard. i havent decided on graphics card yet. 480 or 2 460's in sli is what im leaning towards. what psu wyatt should i run to be safe in my rig. thanks

I would get a 650w or higher from, Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec.

+1 to what sportsfanboy said, 650W minimum for both configurations you have in mind. Recommended brands are Corsair, Seasonic and the newer Antec models.

If you want absolute top quality, then Seasonic do a 650W unit that is both modular and 80+ Gold certified. Only a handful of PSUs have attained this rating.

All of the above PSUs are also available in 750W models if you want the headroom etc.

A single 480 would do fine with a Corsair TX650.
A dual GTX460 would also be fine with the same, but would recommend TX750W for that. Just for the headroom.

For me, I just bit the bullet and got 1000W. The OCZ Z-series is made by Seasonic and it's amazing. I got it so that I would probably never have to buy another PSU again. There isn't much on the market that can burn out a single 83A rail.

you wish its made buy seasonic its made by sirfa but its a seasonic rip off.its not as good as it could be a few cuts here and there.the op should be fine with what he chose.unless he will do something like sli 480 or a crossfire 5970's
