BIOS UPDATE???

I have a GigabyteX58A-UD9 on my first build and a Gigabyte X58-USB3 on my second....I have had the UD9 for a year and the USB3 for about 8 months.My question is how often should I update the BIOS?Should I update every time a new version comes out?I haven't updated either motherboard...but have had NEC USB3.0 HOST controller issues on the UD9 that I could not correct even after an extensive search and advice.

Don't update the BIOS unless you have a problem and the new BIOS version addresses the problem. Usually the manufacturers include the changes from one version to the other.
