Okay .. I'll admit that I'm not very good. Yes, I can win all the DM
matches with bots set to 'average', but when we switch to DD or CTF,
the bots seem to be tougher at even the 'average' setting. Most of
the time, I'm NOT at the top of the 'most frags' list posted after a
match. I've never even tried Onslaught yet, or any of the other
advanced modes. What I need is a personal training coach to critique
my performance after each match .. "You should have done such-and-such
when you were attacked by Avarice" .. or "in order to bring down a
dancing/flying opponent, you need to do this". Is there such a thing
as "Unreal Tournament for Dummies" at the local computer store? I
don't know how one can pick up advanced skills, when they haven't a
clue as what to do. I've been through the tutorials, but they don't
cover advanced skills. I think the most help I've had over the years
is attending a LAN Party, and watching players more skilled than
myself (which is about everyone). By watching what they do, and how
they do it, I have been able to become moderately better .. but
progress is slow. Granted, I don't practice 3 hours a day .. probably
necessary to become one of the "elite".
Oh well, UT is still a game that you can enjoy, no matter what your
skill level, even if it is a bit on the lower scale. Still wish I
could be better though ...
